From 10/12 to 11/1, Lay’s presented their first experiential pop-up in Asia. By combining Lay’s delicious flavors with an artistic experience, SMS GROUP worked with PepsiCo to create a playful immersion into the world of Lay’s, from the sense of taste to sight and touch, offering an interactive engagement with consumers in the most fun way.
Located in the 1914 Huashan Cultural Park, a mainstay of the young and trendy, the pop-up became a hotspot for passers-by with its glittering facade. Inspired by the 3 popular existing and the newly introduced beef noodle flavor, we divided the brand space into 4 experiential scenes, providing engaging environments in which the public was able to explore the playful spirit of Lay’s, have fun and take photos.
Through a secret door hidden behind a vending machine, guests could slip into the enticing snack world.
在鲜明愉快的黄色调空间中，摆放极具疗癒感的薯片状圆形球体，或趴或坐、或躺或滚，重回童年的纯真快乐，体验乐事最单纯的美味。In the bright and happy yellow room, guests were able to freely sit, lie down or roll around on the round balls resembling the original chips, experiencing a moment of pure joy, just like the delicacy of Lay’s Original.
Inspired by the feeling of flowing sea grass, the immersive hanging curtains played with light and shadow, creating a mysterious undersea world to explore.
The large cheese walls were designed to resemble the smooth taste, texture and look of cheese. To touch, lean or climb through the cheese walls, guests were able to feel the fun and “say cheese” for a very sharable picture!
Jump right intothe new flavor of Lay’s and land in a massive bowl of beef noodles! Nothingbetter than the taste of home, the Taiwan special of ‘Lay’s Beef Noodles’ payshomage to what is arguably Taiwan’s domestic flavor. Bigger than life andtaking guest by surprise, guests were embraced by the soft and warm feeling of lyingin a beef noodle bowl and able to see - and snap pictures of - themselves inthe mirror placed on the ceiling.
SMS GROUP went far off the beaten path with PepsiCo, creating this unconventional snack experience and bringing fun, happy and memorable moments to Taipei.
