In 2026, Shanghai Plaza 66 marks the dual milestone of its 25th anniversary and Hang Lung Group's 66th anniversary, replacing conventional promotional campaigns with spring and summer art exhibitions to complete a deep transformation from luxury consumption venue to urban public art space.

The spring exhibition "Twenty-Five Years Together · A New Journey in Harmony" used vinyl sound archives to thread together a quarter-century of urban memory rooted on Nanjing West Road; the summer exhibition "Happy Birthday 2U2," launched on June 5, occupies the mall's central atrium with soaring vertical space beneath the dome, constructing its main field through a soft pink gradient curved enclosure that echoes the creative concept of circulating blessings. Production-wise, the curved exhibition wall features 366 matte-finish birthday mailboxes corresponding to each day of the year, while multiple traditional gourd-shaped freestanding displays hold hand-painted greeting cards, and large-scale custom-printed fabric banners hang from above. The monumental installations employ steel frameworks for internal support and eco-friendly soft cladding for exterior finishes, with hand-painted exhibits and mailbox components undergoing refined color-separation printing to faithfully reproduce the original hand-drawn textures, balancing spatial aesthetics with installation safety. In terms of content operations, the exhibition pre-collected hand-painted cards from children and women representatives across Shanghai and Hong Kong, while on-site DIY zones offered blank cards for visitor creation. Guests could draw cards from their corresponding birthday mailboxes and write new blessings to deposit in return, with each completed creation triggering a directed donation from Hang Lung to youth arts education charities.

This design fuses static viewing with immersive interaction, partnering with the Jing'an District Women's Federation, UCCA Kids, and cross-border schools to precisely convert commercial foot traffic into philanthropic value, achieving a triple-win for the mall, its audience, and public welfare—establishing a benchmark model for high-end commercial properties leveraging art for brand commemoration, urban cultural grounding, and charitable empowerment.
