As Palm Angels’ first limited-time conceptual space settled in Shanghai’s century-old Shikumen lilong, this pop-up project pioneers the integration of American street trend and local Shanghai historical architecture, delivering innovative aesthetic and commercial value. Centered on the brand’s 2026 spring-summer collection "Island Speed", the project takes Southern California beach culture as its core design concept, embedding the relaxed and casual coastal atmosphere into the classic Shikumen buildings and realizing the scene-based display of the brand’s new seasonal products. In terms of spatial modeling and on-site production, the venue fully restores an immersive seaside resort scene. Native palm plants are arranged along the street, creating a striking visual contrast with the carved door frames and retro brick walls of Shikumen architecture. The interior is decorated with gradient sunset soft light and iconic neon installations outlining brand symbols, with warm lighting covering the old wooden beam structures to reproduce the texture of a sunset coastline. Adopting a layered layout, the space combines rough original building materials with delicate display props. It perfectly integrates the profound historical heritage of old buildings with the vitality of street fashion, creating an exclusive seaside immersive experience in the urban historic district. The project not only diversifies the brand’s offline aesthetic presentation, but also injects youthful and international trendy vitality into the century-old Zhang Garden.
